Learning Experience

My learning experience using the Alice game was a little frustrating at first, but once I played with it I felt very comfortable. I took the tutorial that helps with teaching you how to use the game and it was a great advantage. It thought me all the cool things Alice does and how to do it. It was a quick and easy way that helped me learn how to use the game. It made my game/story that much better. Also, playing with the game and learning from trial and error helped as well. This way of learning I think is good every now and then. This learning experience was pretty cool because I have never played or created anything the way this game allows you to. It was a great learning experience!

Educational Societies

The Educational society I would join is the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences. This society supports professionals who work with families and communities. It helps with leaders in communities who make decisions that will effect families and people in the community. I want to be a head football coach and I think this society would benefit me most. This society would help me when I have athletes who have troubled home lives. Troubled homes is very common with some student athletes. This society would give me tools and skills to be able to deal with parents and students who may have problems. A football coach is also a leader in the community. This society would also help me with decisions and changes that I will have say in around the community. Which as a football coach having good relationships with the community is very important and can determine how long you coach at that school. The society would also help with ideas and events to get the players families and community to support the school and team. Members in this society all over the world share ideas and help one another to better the life of others and the communities around them. This society is very caring and will help as much as possible. It looks like a great thing to be apart of. The website is http://www.aafcs.org/ if anyone would like to check it out!

Feed Back, Vocal Vs Paper

Feedback is a great way to get information from peers to help make your work better or address things in your work. When it comes to vocal or paper feed back i believe both are important, but i prefer vocal feed back. Vocal feedback is great because if the person who is getting the feedback does not understand something they can just ask the person immediately. Paper feedback is not always understandable and can be tough to know how to apply the feedback a person gets. Also, i like to socialize and interact with people rather then dealing with papers. I feel like getting into great discussions with a person over work is healthy and beneficial towards the work.

3rd Blog, Multiple Intelligence

The exercise we did on multiple intelligence was very interesting to me. Growing up in elementary school we never really did anything like this to see how we best learned. I feel like this would have been very helpful to me as a kid. I was never really the math and logic kid. I was more about the arts, music, and interacting. Now i know why i hated homework as a kid. This exercise is a great way to get to know your students. It will show how the majority of students in the class room learn and how you should go about teaching the class. This exercise would benefit both teacher and students. I wish my elementary teachers would have used something like this!

Problem Solving With Blogging

There are several ways blogging could be used for problem solving in the class room. I could set up some problems for the kids to blog about, but i want blogging to be more about what they are thinking and feeling about that week. The way i would solve problems with blogging would be by reading each students blog to see what they learned that week. I could use this to solve the problem of why a student is not doing well in the class room. This would show me what a student needs more work with and what they do and don't get. This would help me to be a better teacher and not leave students behind who are not getting the lessons.

How I Would Use Blogging In Class

So i am a little bit more familiar with blogging now that i have done some research. Blogging is something i would definitely use in my class room. I would use it as a journal for the students to write in. At the end of each week towards the end of the day students will be able to reflect on the week and blog about what they learned and anything special that happened that week. I would then give students starter questions to help them get started on blogging. The questions would be general questions to help with this new thing for them. I would then read each students blog and comment on all of them. This will  help me get to know the students better and i would be able to see where each student is on writing and if they are paying attention in class.

First Blog With Teaching Ideas

Blogging is very new to me. I didn't really know what it was or how to do it and i am not sure if i am doing it right. Although from the research i have looked at it shows that blogging is huge. So many people do it and it can help with many different things. Blogging also gave me an idea similar to something i did in one of my classes in grade school. In this class my teacher would have us write in a journal every day about anything that may be going on in our life that day and what we learned that day. This helped me out a lot and helped me reflect on each day and remember everything i learned that day. The idea i have for my future students would be to use blogging instead of a journal at the end of every week. At the end of every week students would have free will to blog about anything on their mind, but would also have to blog about what they learned that week and what they think about what they learned. The learning goals would be to get them to write, and to get them to reflect on what they learned. To often what people learn in a day goes in one ear and out the other. This activity would help them to remember everything they learned in the week. I would know what they learned from reading their blogs and i would know if what i am doing is working in the class room. It would also not just help the students but me as a teacher as well.
